19. Do you believe it's important to integrate yourself into the community in which you practice medicine? How would you effectively do this?
How to Answer
Kaiser Permanente believes that improving health is about more than just providing high-quality health care. They firmly believe that good health starts in the communities they serve. Be sure to check out and read up on the Kaiser site that focuses on their commitment to helping build healthier communities, providing access to care, and focusing on social health within their communities. As you answer, your interviewer wants to hear that you see the importance of a large healthcare organization doing more for the greater good of the people they serve and how you will help live this mission if you were to join their team.

Answer Example
"Over the course of my career, I've been very involved in activities within the community and this is both from a personal and professional level. My family currently participates in food drives and helps to build homes for the less fortunate, activities we love to do together to help our neighbors. I've also volunteered my time to help out at free vaccination clinics to ensure that members of my community had access to care they normally wouldn't. I love that Kaiser Permanente puts so much effort into the betterment of the communities you serve. One thing that really jumped out to me is your effort to help people with things like the SNAP program and getting access to community benefits and resources provided by the state."
