"I am a Registered Nurse and obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing five years ago from Duke University. I have worked as a nurse for the past five years and complete the required continuing education hours each year. I am looking into Master's programs right now as I want to continue my education and seek an administrative position in the next few years. I also recently received the State of Florida 240 insurance license as I saw it is a requirement for this position."

The interviewer asks this question to determine if you have the education needed to perform the job you are interviewing for. They want to hear if you have a degree, certificates, licenses, or any other specialized training that qualifies you to work in this field.

Focus on describing your education as it relates to the position. You do not need to start with receiving your high school diploma or GED. Start with post-secondary training and beyond. If you do not have post-secondary training and the position calls for only a high school diploma or GED, then mention that you are qualified for the position and describe if you have your diploma or GED. However, many of the jobs Florida Blue posts require a minimum of an associate's degree to apply for the position or a high school diploma or GED plus relevant work experience.

It is best to describe your ideal schedule and arrangement, but follow up with your willingness to be flexible and work what arrangement Florida Blue would require.

After speaking to my friend that day, I decided to research the best company to work for, and my research led me to Florida Blue."

They want to hear if someone in the industry mentored you, have family or friends who work in health insurance, if you worked in another part of the insurance industry and decided to change careers, or heard about this profession from a guidance counselor or professor.

Focus on giving your personal reason for choosing this career, responding with enthusiasm and passion. There is no right or wrong answer. The interviewer wants to gain insight into what motivates and inspires you to work in this industry to determine if you will be a good fit for their organization.

"I knew I wanted a career working in this industry but was not sure in what capacity. I chose to pursue a career as a Customer Advocate after researching the different roles offered in the health insurance industry.
