      What You Need to Know

A large part of successfully delegating tasks to employees is how effective the communication is in parlaying the information required to perform and deliver the desired result. Too often, we've heard the expression, 'if you want something right, you've got to do it yourself.' However, the message behind this adage is if you want the job done right, you'd better effectively communicate the expectations of what doing the job right looks like; otherwise, you'll end up doing it yourself. Communicating effectively while delegating is always a requirement in any management role. Discuss your ability to delegate, sharing the level of your experience and skills through your big-picture view.

      2nd Answer Example

"To date, my role hasn't included much delegation to others. However, I have been responsible for taking the workload and dictating who will take on which task, such as region, customer focus, or manufacturer. In either case, I believe it is important to recognize that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. I believe it's important to identify those, provide growth opportunities, and prepare them for their next role."
