Throughout my career, I've always looked to bring new ideas to the table. About four years ago, I knew the team I was a part of was lacking training in negotiations. I approached my manager about the idea of some exciting training opportunities that were available and they ran with the idea for the team. The training was excellent and our team benefitted greatly from the small investment in it."

This mindset has kept me focused on the end goals of my work, thus making my day-to-day tasks that much more important. I think this same mindset will be important here at CONMED, as I work as part of a larger team developing life-altering medical devices and surgical products."

I'll join your team with the ability to delegate duties to the strengths of the team and be an open leader when setting deadlines. I'm also the type of engineer that always sets time aside each day for phone calls, emails, and other daily duties so nothing is lost in the mix."

I was always honest with them on pricing policies and they appreciated that approach from me. I took some time to read through your Code of Business Conduct and Ethics before applying to this role, and it was refreshing to see such a well-documented policy."

"This is a great question! In a dream world out of high school, I would have pursued a career as a professional golfer. It was a passion for me growing up and a great way to drive my competitive gears. To this day, I continue to play regularly in leagues and with my family. It's really fun to imagine dedicating my life and well-being to a passion, putting in the hours of hard work required to succeed, and then traveling the world doing what I love."

I approach every interaction with both colleagues and customers with a positive mindset and the desire to help please them. After I learn and master the entire CONMED Orthopedics line that I will be working with, I feel confident in my ability to effectively communicate the implants, instruments, and MTF biologics that I will be representing."

As I was contacting potential suppliers and negotiating prices, I felt it was important to travel to see the facilities and meet the key players from the top two companies we were going to choose from. I approached my manager, and she agreed that traveling to meet with people was a great idea. I was provided a budget to work under and completed the final meetings within a month. We went with a great new supplier, with whom we now reap great materials and lower costs. I love the fact that this role with CONMED involves 20-30% travel and am excited about that aspect of the job."

Last year, one of my biggest clients went out of stock of a key product that we supplied due to a significant increase in their orders. I received a phone call on a Thursday afternoon from them and our typical delivery day was the following Tuesday. I gathered the amount of product they needed, rearranged my schedule, and made the delivery myself the next day. While it was out of my typical job duties, I was certainly happy to make a client happy on short notice and continue our business together in the future."

At that time, I was a mechanical engineer who was working among a larger team of physicians, design engineers, physicists, and electrical engineers. The collaboration needed for this project was of utmost importance to its success and the real reason why this was such a big accomplishment. Coming to CONMED, I would bring this same sense of teamwork knowing that many heads together, each with their own expertise, can accomplish any task in the medical device world."

Over the last five years, I've worked very closely in the robotic surgery industry and the advances in robotic surgeries and devices that are now helping in spinal surgeries are allowing patients to stand and walk that once couldn't. I would have to say that the most exciting is the advancement of health data and the massive consortium of health data that is being built to help find cures and better treatments for some of the worst conditions and diseases we face. I'd love to hear more about how CONMED is utilizing data to further the science in your products."

While CONMED corners a few niche markets of the medical devices and supplies industry in the GI, dermatology, ortho, pulmonology, and other medical fields, the truth of the matter is that their customer base is focused on the larger healthcare field. I get the strong sense that this organization promotes that for all staff. I'm also looking to join a mission that I believe in to truly find satisfaction in my work. Our daughter was born with a GI disorder and she has been through years of procedures and treatments and is living a normal life now as a teenager. I would find working with your biliary and endoscopic ultrasound products both fascinating and motivating."

I look at your offering of insufflation training for nursing and medical support staff from your customer base. This is a continuing education topic that is very important, but just not offered in many places. I can imagine that you have a lot of customers participating in opportunities like this. The great benefit for you is more exposure to products that can benefit their practice."

This led me down the path of medical sales and as I'm being considered here at CONMED, I feel confident that my background will make me a valued member of your team."
