Sure. I have a great example of this. Duering my mediation training. We had to do simituated mediatons. 2-3 people would be a part of the mediation. While the rest of us would observe. Each person in the mediation had a specific role and was instucted to do and not do certain things. The other members of the mediation did not know this. A group of went up to do their simulation - I was not a part of it. There was one mediatior, a father, and a daughter in law. The daugter in law suing the father. I will not go into a lot of detaul, but essentially the son died, the daughter in law was not of a great moral character and the father had posession of the car. The daughter in law didnt have a car, and wanted the father to give her the car since she was married to the son. The father refused. The mediation went on for an extememely long time. Simply tialking numbers - nothing else. No one was listening to what the father was saying. The types of things the father was saying was a clue as to what was going on beneath the service and could very well be the tuning point in this mediation if the mediatior can address it. Tensions just kept rising and the mediation was not gettign anywhere. Finally, I respectfully interjected as " a mediatotor in observation" and aksnoedged the great work with identyfing the surafce issues, the car, the price, who the legal owner is, the facts, etc, but no one has address the FATHER. THE FATHER just lost his son - he keep saying we bought the car together, we worked on the car togheter, THIS CAR HAS SENTIEMENTAL VALUE TO father. Sentiamental value does not have a dollar price and therefire any amount you continue to negotuate is goign to fail unless we can resiolve the underlying issue. Father ... Said YES.. FINALLY... Someone got it.. The mediator that facialited teh conversation around the sentimental value and has dislike the for the wife. Itmaitly, he agreed to give the the car to the wife.

Supervising and teaching junior members of the team a lot of the knowledge they needed to work front of house. Whilst it was important to work quickly, it was important not to look rushed and not to rush customers, I had a few junior team members that I had to speak to about their tone and manner with customers as they weren't very friendly, usually as they were trying to concentrate on taking the order down correctly, and perhaps used the wrong phrases such as 'do you want' instead of 'would you like'. Some junior members of the team ignored or took quite some time to adhere to the advice and instruction I was giving them, so I had to use a stricter tone and explain to them that as front of house staff we are representing the business and how we behave directly impacts each customer's experience, which of course we want to be positive.
