It is illegal in many states to ask a candidate if they own a vehicle while interviewing them, as it is deemed discriminatory. However, the interviewer can ask if you have reliable transportation if it is a job requirement. Describe what form of reliable transportation you will use to get to work if hired. It may be that you own a vehicle, rideshare, use public transportation, or ride a bicycle.
1st Answer Example
"Yes, I have several modes of reliable transportation. When the weather is good, I ride my motorcycle to work. In inclement weather, I drive my 2020 Subaru. Both vehicles are well maintained and reliable."
