3.   How do you like to spend your free time?

What You Need to Know

The interviewer wants further insights into your personality and how well you'll fit in with your other team members. Your answer could also potentially provide insights into your work/life balance. Use this opportunity to make yourself interesting and memorable and perhaps even start a fun conversation.

Answer Example

"On most days off, you'll find me doing several things at once. I'll either watch some documentaries while cooking in the kitchen. I am a hardcore foodie and health nut. 5.   If I were to call your previous employer, how do you think they’d describe your attitude?

What You Need to Know

This question tests your stress responses in real-time by hinting that they may have talked to your previous employer. They may have, but in all likelihood, they haven't, and most states have laws limiting what can be disclosed or shared. "They'd say I have a great attitude, regardless of the work I perform. Everybody has bad days, but I have a proven track record of motivating those around me. I am the team's cheerleader, an enemy to none, and a friend to all. They'd say I am a glass half full, optimistic, happy-go-lucky person, who always has an eye on the silver lining."

7.   How does a career in management consulting fulfill and satisfy you?

What You Need to Know

By gaining insights into your career satisfaction, the interviewer will hopefully be able to ascertain whether you'll be a sustainable hire. Many who work in the industry experience dissatisfaction with their work yet continue doing it rather than facing a career change. Therefore, they want to gauge your job satisfaction to determine whether you'll find a career with Accenture satisfying and rewarding. Share what satisfies you most about your career in management consulting. Exhibit enthusiasm while being specific.

Written by Kevin Downey on February 10th, 2023

"The most satisfying part of my career as a management consultant is that I have the opportunity to change the course of someone's business. 2nd Answer Example

"I have found management consulting to be highly fulfilling for the past eight years because I am passionate about business success, especially when it means resuscitating a failing business. I love a great comeback story, and I get to participate in them all the time. Another reason I love this career path is the many development opportunities and learning new approaches and methodologies."

9.   What have you done in the last few months to strengthen your professional network?

What You Need to Know

Your interviewer asks this question to assess whether you actively maintain and tend to your professional network. Management Consultants know very well that a professional network can mean all the difference in their business. Some are more disorganized and cruise along until it's necessary to spring into gear. That last-minute scramble can introduce chaos and frenetic energy to the workplace, which could affect productivity. So, share how you go about networking and how active you are in your industry.

Written by Kevin Downey on February 10th, 2023

1st Answer Example

"I am very focused on building my professional network. For the past six months, I have enjoyed membership at the local Chamber of Commerce. I have also joined a consultants mastermind, where we meet once every quarter to share tools, resources, and client success stories."

Written by Kevin Downey on February 10th, 2023

2nd Answer Example

"I am active in my local and online consultants community. I recently started a LinkedIn group for Management Consultants in my city, and we will have our first meetup next month. Networking is a huge component of gaining business, and I plan to stay focused on those activities for years to come."
