"Last year, when I was managing dispatch for my company, I noticed a pretty solid opportunity for us to save on overtime hours. I did a cost analysis of the extra payroll we were spending on overtime. The obstacle presented was not having the budget to invest in a few more trucks without cutting into the maintenance and repairs of our current fleet. Having a smaller fleet of trucks required us to assign longer shifts to our drivers, due to the routes we'd carefully packed in for them to meet our demands.
