| Most Useful Job Websites |
-
Craigslist: Yes,
this has risen to number one over useful job websites. It
has the most job posts we have seen on the internet and
unlike Monster and HotJobs, these jobs are usually not
filled and posted anyway. The biggest downfall for you is
most job posts receive an overflow of applications. Meaning,
if you are going to use Craigslist as a job source, be ready
to send a ton of emails with your resume attached and hope
one sticks.
- LinkedIn: This is
a social networking tool, that can be extremely valuable in
helping you meet potential employers and/or clients.
-
Career Builder:
Probably the biggest job source on the internet. Job
postings seem to be more reliable than Monster and HotJobs.
One of the benefits for Career Builder, rather than LinkedIn
and Craigslist, is the ease of submitting applications and
searching. You'll be able to apply to more jobs using Career
Builder.
- Beyond: Is one of
the largest networks of niche career communities. Meaning,
they compile other job websites that field niche results and
bring them together at Beyond.
- Hound: Hound tracks
down every job listing provided by a companies own website,
and lists them on Hound. Really, a good idea. The website
itself, is clean and easy to use.
- Monster: One of the
most recognizable job websites. They also offer advice on
resumes, interviews, cover letters, and more.
