"For me no two places or people are the same and I believe that a successful person is the one who knows how to adjust to the changes around him/her. I love communicating with different types of people and its this ability to adapt according to their styles that makes me successful with that. When I started working in my last job, I was new to this profession and had no idea of the culture and the working style. I nevertheless adapted to the whole thing quickly and was one of the ideal employees of the casino in a very short time span."

As in almost any situation in a kitchen, the unexpected happens, and I have to work through it, and not lose my cool. I had to stay focused on getting through the orders. When I had a second, I would help my workers push out their dishes. And we can finish the night as smoothly as possible."

"My co-workers would describe my attention to detail as very strong. I can very easily point out spelling discrepancies in communication and will notice the small things. I think big-picture as well but have always had a knack for details."

For being a slot attendant you don't need to have any college degrees but what you will definitely need is an experience in handling high volumes of cash and excellent communication skills. Along with this if you have some customer service experience that will be an added advantage. Also, a high school diploma would be a good thing. This is when I messaged a few of my friends who work in the same industry and promised them some perks at our casino if they helped us. They came over happily and everything was managed without any issues."

It was just a little too tall and it would not open out all of the way. My coworker was trying to yank it out, but it would just bust the drawer door off if he did it any harder. Just then I knew we needed something flat to pry the pan out. I slipped a flat spatula between the pan and the door, and it worked. The pan was able to be removed."

How do you organize, plan, and prioritize your work?

"I start my day at work by making a list of all the tasks that need to be done and put them in a sequence according to their priority. The basis of setting the priority depends on the importance of those tasks and how soon they need to be finished. This helps me in finishing most of my work on time."

It was a real big challenge for me as I had never managed a team until that day but my determination and dedication towards my work helped me out and my supervisor was happy with my work."

"I wanted to be a slot attendant because this is one job that will teach me a lot about the casino, the people who visit them and also the people who run these casinos. Since some day down the line I wish to be a casino manager so this seemed to be a great choice to start my career with."

"I have learnt that whenever there is a situation where the level of tension is high, its best to stay calm and relaxed. As a slot attendant, which is a customer facing role, we come across such situations every other day. Once a customer started attacking me when he had lost a lot in the game. I tried to stay calm and called the security. Its difficult to stay calm in such situations but I tried to keep my head on my shoulders and did the right thing."

"In my last job we once had a really busy night and I was supposed to be working with this colleague who just didn't want to cooperate with me. This was creating a tensed atmosphere. I tried to manage it for some time but then I decided to take a small break and talked to him about it. We had a decent conversation and I explained the situation to him and that it was making the customers uncomfortable. He then changed his attitude and it all went well from that moment."
