"Early on in my tutoring career, I did not work well when parents would linger, listen in, or attempt to contribute during my sessions. I didn't feel like I could be as effective when parents were interfering. I definitely don't mind speaking with parents or giving them a report on our session, but I am now much more straightforward with parents when it comes to my expectations and how I work best with students."
