Nonprofit employees come from all backgrounds and experiences, and many times individuals want to transition from their current industry to pursue work that truly gives them a sense of purpose. If you are leaving your current industry to become a nonprofit fundraiser, explain why.

"When I turned eighteen, I started volunteering at my local community center helping out in any way I could. I tutored kids in reading and writing, coached an afterschool soccer team, and even helped maintain the garden. I knew I had a passion for serving others, but I didn't know the best way to channel my resources.
