Effective Job Hunting Skills


To successfully find a job can be easier than the challenge seems. Tone these job hunting abilities and you will find yourself with an interview.
  • Make a schedule for yourself. Devote X amount of hours each day into searching for a position.
  • Every position you apply to make sure you give it your all. That means tailor your cover letter and resume to fit the position. Otherwise, only giving half effort is a 100% waste of time.
  • Spend 30 minutes every morning, afternoon, evening on Craigslist searching postings. If you have a more specific job field that has its only job posting website, then stick to that.
  • Wake up at 8am with a suit and tie. If you see no job postings to apply to and you're feeling a little courageous go search for a job in person.
  • Career fairs? Why not? Unless there happens to be X amount of job postings and you have no time to apply to them all.
