Answer Example
"We recently had two employees fighting over a customer. One associated insisted they greeted them first and the other insisted they did not poach. To solve the issue, I split the commission between the two of them. Neither was happy about the situation, but it made them more aware, moving forward, of the whereabouts of their customer."

Answer Example
"I remember this time I had to deliver a report to a group of people who were ultimately there to judge my work, and in effect judge me. So I padded the job like never before. If I was going to get up there, I had to anticipate every question that would come my way. I had to be a top expert on what I was about to speak about. This was the culmination of everything I'd worked towards. I was nervous. But I believed in myself, so I focused on that, and convinced myself that everyone would come around if I presented the information well. I believed in myself and delivered my report with conviction. I got a lot of pats on the back for that one. I felt like it was a success because of how I have further developed my skills since that day. It set a precedent which I have outshined repeatedly since."

Answer Example
"My job is one big exercise in collaboration and teamwork! I know that I have to rely on my coworkers to be the sales professional that I can be, and they need me to be on the top of my game for them to be their best. We cannot achieve anything alone: we have to work collaboratively and split tasks to have the department hit targets and exceed goals."

37. Why is it important to develop relationships with coworkers?
What You Need to Know
This question is meant to gauge the value you place on developing positive working relationships. Relaying you go out drinking with your coworkers every night could likely indicate that you may come into work hung over every morning. Your answer will also offer insights into your personality. If you aren't a social person, this question may be more challenging. It's fine to acknowledge this, so long as you express you find benefit in connecting with the other members of your team.

Answer Example
"To accomplish anything in a job, you need your team members. Your team members are who you rely on to get a project done. You will often call them in when you need advice, or to help pick up the slack when you're in a pinch. If you don't have a good rapport with your co-workers, it can limit your ability to be great at your job."

38. Tell me about a time when you had to work with someone who was difficult to get along with.
What You Need to Know

Discuss, in a positive tone, how you made it work, despite personal differences!

Answer Example
"There will always be co-workers that are difficult. It's part of what keeps things interesting. Much of my job is finding common ground with people and positively relating to them. This requirement does not end with the customer, but rather is an important part of dealing with coworkers, whether in a management position or not. As far as obnoxious behavior, I ignore it as much as possible. There is a point where I will make it clear in a firm way that the topic at hand is bothersome or inappropriate and ask that it not be discussed in the workplace. The majority of the time, I focus on the good in people, even if they drive me nuts."

39. When was the last time you contributed to a team effort and what was your role?
What You Need to Know
One thing to always remember about a job interview is that its a conversation. For most questions, the interviewer wants to see if you are capable of just holding a conversation with them. For those who thrive in a socially interactive team environment, the collaboration is the reward. Every day you decide what attitude you'll embrace. The only thing you have control over is your attitude. In a team environment, the right attitude can go a long way. Frequently, those striving to rise through the ranks are singularly focused on their own ambition and goals. There may be times this is unavoidable, which is why the purpose of this question is to assess how well you work and collaborate with others. Your focus should be on the team. If you are performing at your best, the competition will be worried about you, not the other way around.
