Why the Interviewer Asks This Question
This question will help your interviewer to better understand the direction you see yourself taking a career working with Nordstrom. This could also potentially help them identify whether the position you are applying for is the right fit for you, and perhaps even place you into a job which you'd enjoy more. Yet, showcasing your preference and your adaptability, you'll be setting yourself up as a more ideal candidate. However, if the position you are applying for is the right fit for you right now, and for the foreseeable future, that's fine too.
